A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux shared hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all address can be set up with a couple of mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered via our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes under any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox, you will have to click on the icon with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Disabling this option can be done in the very same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a particular domain, you will get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never edit or deactivate anything automatically.
